Science and Technology Day Overview

In collaboration with the South Carolina State University (SCSU) College of Science, Mathematics and Engineering Technology (CSME), the UTC, with assistance from the Technical Advisory Council, has implemented the Statewide Transportation Competition for secondary school students. Activities for the competition will focus in the fields of math, science, engineering, and transportation.

Science and Technology Day was conceived as a means of promoting middle and high school student’s interest in science, mathematics, engineering, transportation and technology and familiarizing these students with SCSU programs and curricula. During the 2005 competition, students will be given science projects and compete at the district and state levels. Each project team can have a maximum of three members. Several SCSU College of Science, Mathematics and Engineering Technology faculty and transportation center staff and students will be assigned to each school as mentors and technical advisors. The students may choose one of the following for their science projects: CO2 Dragster, Solar Powered Cars Design, Media Design, and Hovercraft.

To register for the Science and Technology Day see registration form.
